We had to leave exactly the day typhoon was supposed to strike Osaka. The moment major businesses and transportation services announced they would cancel service for all trains, buses and that every single business would be closed (this the night before the typhoon) we asked if they could extend our stay. They said since the typhoon technically didn't touch land yet, so they wouldn't. We asked since we didn't have Japanese phone numbers and couldn't register for taxi apps if they could call us a taxi and see if they would be in service and if we could make a reservation. The answer was that usually there's a lot of taxis going around in front of the hotel, so if we waited outsided long enough we would have been able to catch one. I mentioned the fact that there was gonna be a typhoon with winds at 50km/h, they smiled and said nothing. Disgusting service, awful management of an emergency.
