My experience at Butterfly Morrison was on the whole positive but some details need to be improved. First of all the staff: they all seem to be very young students with little experience and knowledge, they were almost useless for suggestions on transportation, let alone restaurants or events. They also work with very poor means: the hotel lobby is incredibly bare and they only work with old laptops that lack keys and are kept together with selotape, they use scribbled notes on recycled paper, no wonder they cannot find information on your reservation quickly. I had made and agreed for a change to my initial resrvation by email and they had no track of it, later it was all settled. I found a dirty towel in the bathroom and some dust in my room upon arrival: cleanliness should be improved. The lobby is a barren space with hardly any seats and no bar, not a space to rest or receive friends. Now the positive facts: rooms are relatively spacious for Hong Kong and with a modern decor, the location is convenient, espcially for restaurants and the MTR station Causeway Bay is only 5 minutes away, room prices are very competitive, certainly a good quality ratio for that location and kind of rooms in expensive HKG. All in all, a good choice for budget travelers who want a nice room at a reasonable price and need no extra services or luxury comforts from their hotel.
