I have never written a negative review in my life, but I was truly disappointed with this hotel. I found the disparity between the price of the hotel and the quality of the hotel to be egregious.
Here is what you normally get in an NYC hotel for the same price: easy and personal check in, pristine stylish rooms, modern climate control systems, complimentary water and coffee restocked in the room daily, plush robes, and a well stocked mini fridge.
This hotel had none of those things. Instead, it had a really clunky check in where you have to fill out a long online form and even take photos of yourself- It felt like they were taking mugshots. The room had a dated moldy bathroom, dust bunnies on the floor, huge black scuffs along the wall, pieces of the floorboards missing. I was honestly shocked when I walked in. There was a pile of paper trash sitting in the in the hallway for days, and you have to request housekeeping 24 hours in advance. Also the hotel staff leave at 11:30 and you have to let yourself in if you arrive back later. I will say that the staff who worked there were friendly, but the hotel was set up to require very few people working.
The only thing the hotel seemed to invest in was really good photography that made their sad rooms look way better than they do in person. This hotel would have been fine if it was less than half the price but I found it to be a huge rip off for what they are charging.
