Prime location spot on Miami South Beach along Ocean Drive. With location and view of the ocean means you also are subject to the noise and environment that it also brings. Thankfully, everything pretty much settled down around midnight but started back up at five in the morning while the city prepares for their guests the next day.
Building is art deco probably 100 years old I’m guessing and updates have been done, but there is definitely a funk smell that reminds me of a school gymnasium and a little bit of urine that you just can’t get out of the room. They have an air purifier on the wall and once you’re in there for about a half hour you don’t smell it. You only smell it every time you come and go.
If you want a great view And location to the beach and the culture of South Beach, this is a wonderful place to stay and much more affordable than a lot of places along the way.
Due to the age of the air conditioning unit, I was pretty much woken up every 3 to 5 minutes as it’s cycled. I’m not a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper so unless you drink a lot, and there’s a lot of alcohol available in the area, you may not sleep so well. I think if you’re a block off, you’re away from a lot of that Distraction.
There is a huge amount of cultural food options, which is wonderful. Basically, after once you valet park your car, which I have no idea where it went and they wouldn’t tell us where it goes since they didn’t have an attached parking area. You just walk everywhere.
