What are the highlights of Fort Nashborough in Nashville?

Containing 20 log cabins, Fort Nashborough was meant to protect settlers from wild animals and native peoples, rather than to be used for military ventures. Although Cherokee and other Native American people largely wished to remain neutral, some such as Chief Dragging Canoe couldn’t continue to ignore the encroachment of settlers onto their territories, seeing the war between the colonists and Britain as an opportunity to resist them.

Native Americans were eventually forced to move, but not before they attacked the settlements, angry at promises broken by the colonists and at being made to give them concessions as they took more and more of their lands.
