    Isla Mágica theme park is right in the centre of Seville on the Isla de la Cartuja. Set in the time of the discovery of the Americas, the park has 6 theme areas: Puerto de las Indias, Puerto de América, Amazonia, La Guarida de los Piratas (Pirate's Lair), La Fuente de la Juventud (The Fountain of Youth) and El Dorado.

    Each area has its cafes and restaurants and machines selling water and soft drinks to keep the children refreshed, as Seville tends to be very hot.     Seville's Casa de la Ciencia science museum is an open space for the popularisation of science and leisure. It's located in a historic building inherited from the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, right next to the María Luisa Park.

    The museum has permanent exhibitions that deal with some of the universal topics of science, such as the species that inhabit our seas and oceans and the history of geological transformations that the Earth has undergone. The museum also has a planetarium in which children can explore the universe and get up close to the world of celestial bodies. The Casa de la Ciencia is the ideal place for families, especially on the weekend when it organises children's workshops, demonstrations and guided tours.

    The Pabellón de la Navegación (Navigation Pavilion) is a naval museum on the banks of the River Guadalquivir. It is an exhibition space designed to bring the world of sea travel closer to children, inviting them to explore the ocean and fostering their spirit of adventure.

    Parents and children pass through different spaces and discover the human, scientific and technical aspects of sea travel. What's more, workshops and activities are carried out every weekend that allow children to have fun and learn at the same time. The entrance ticket also includes entry to the Torre Mirador. Check opening times beforehand. They are limited.

    The Seville Aquarium is a must-visit if you're travelling to Seville with children. It can be found between the Jardín de las Delicias gardens and the River Guadalquivir, next to the cruise terminal. This is an exhibition space with more than 7,000 examples of 400 marine species, such as sharks, reptiles and sea turtles.

    The theme of the aquarium is the first circumnavigation of the world, captained by Magellan in 1519. This event is used to present the world's different ecosystems, including the River Guadalquivir, the Canary Islands, Brazil, Patagonia, the South Seas and the Philippines, among others. The aquarium also has a restaurant with an open-air terrace with views over the river. It is a very pleasant area in which to stay as a family.

    El Bosque Suspendido (The Hanging Forest) is an adventure park in woods 15.5 miles from Seville. The park is specially designed for school trips and families, with visits adapted to all ages and levels. The forest has a number of aerial circuits with games and challenges, including zip wires, rope bridges, Tibetan bridges and more, all overseen by a team of specialist monitors.

    As well as these tree circuits, you can also climb trees, try bungee jumping, visit the shooting gallery and play soft paintball. There is plenty here to keep you busy all day, as the park also has a restaurant, farm, vegetable garden, and picnic and barbecue areas. Fun is always guaranteed.

    Huerto del Rey Moro vegetable gardens is the largest non-urbanised public space in Seville's old centre, which originally was the Moorish king's vegetable garden, hence the name. In 2004, the land was reclassified for communal use, thanks to a neighbourhood group who fought to return the space to its original purpose as a green area.

    Its 5,000 square metres are a free attraction to all those who love nature and a place where the land can be used to grow all manner of horticultural products, such as figs, blackberries, loquats, lemons and oranges. This is an ideal spot for a walk with your children as you explain to them how an urban vegetable garden works.

Opposite Calle Castilla is a wooded area that is lovely for a rest before getting back in the saddle and returning to Torre de Oro. Check out the wide range of hotels near this historic building.
