Think of Japan and most people picture Mt. Fuji, its name every bit as internationally famous as its beautiful form. Mt. Fuji has served as a motif of classical literature and ukiyoe (Japanese woodblock prints) as well as an object of faith, so it’s no surprise that UNESCO registered it as a World Cultural Heritage site.

If you’ve come all the way to Fujinomiya, chances are that you’re interested in climbing Mt. Fuji. Of course it’s an amazing experience, but it’s quite a climb, so do take the necessary precautions for altitude sickness. Once you reach the summit, you can see the sunrise after watching the star-filled sky and look down on an immense sea of cloud. Expect a sense of accomplishment like no other and a priceless experience. There really is nowhere better on Earth to share a blissful moment with your partner or friends.

Otodome Falls has a legend: When the Soga brothers were secretly plotting their revenge on Kudo Suketsune, who killed their father, they couldn’t hear properly due to the roaring sound of the waterfall. But when they cried out, the waterfall immediately went silent. The roaring sound they encountered is still there, though, and the sight of these huge falls never fails to impress.

The Otodome Falls are right next to the Shiraito Falls, so why not visit both at the same time? With negative ions in the air, this is a perfect place to refresh yourself.
