When we arrived at the hotel the 1st thing we noticed was that there was no lift, so if you have mobility issues, this hotel isn't for you. The stairs up to the reception were quite steep and my partner had to stop halfway as she has trouble with her hip and knee and is not great with stairs.
The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. Luckily, we were placed on the first floor, so there were no more stairs to climb.
As we entered we noticed how little room there was and that the bed virtually filled the room, but that was no problem as we were going to be out for most of the day and evening. The bathroom was fairly tight too, but adequate, and the bed was quite comfortable.
What made up for it all was the spectacular view we had of Edinburgh Castle and the old town as the wall was virtually all glass.
The location of the hotel was great, with bus stops right outside the hotel and Princes Street Gardens opposite.
