"The location of the hotel is amazing and the views from the rooms were spectacular! The resort needs a major investment in upkeep - from the towels and bedsheets, to a refurbishment of the bathrooms and pool. The staff was very friendly although a lot did not speak English and so there was some miscommunication. Overall the resort is situated extremely well, but needs some refurbishment."

"Killer location, and a perfectly nice, if basic, hotel right on Dikwella Beach. Clean, comfortable, and unfussy rooms, most with views of the ocean, which is just across the street. Not much in the way of a restaurant, but plenty of local options right on its doorstep. Lovely pool. Nice staff, if a little absentee. So-so WiFi."

Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. I felt super safe. I didn’t want to leave.

"What a place!! We stayed as a family of 4 (2 children 10/12) in an Oceanfront view room. Large double bed and 2 day beds for the kids! Clean and well appointed with a daily freshen up!
We had the best time. So relaxing! A much calmer/quieter stretch of coastline (away from the busyness of Hiriketiya/ Weligama etc.
Nice infinity pool to laze about in and plenty of sun loungers/cabanas for sunning, reading, drinking.
Ocean, beach and waves were amazing, however, there are some serious rips/currents in the water so you may only be able to paddle around. No water sports.
You can however do plenty of day trips (fishing), Udawalawa (to see the Elephants), to other beaches where you can surf/snorkel, cooking classes and Galle (old fort town - with hundreds of shops, cafe’s and restaurants.
There is a good breakfast included in the cost of your room and a nice menu for lunch and evening meals. Plus there is a lovely family run restaurant across the street serving the best homemade currys and fish (caught by the family), plus a few others in walking distance.
Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough to help! We will be back!

"This hotel was a highlight of our trip and easily our favourite in Sri Lanka. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were gorgeous and comfortable, and the location couldn’t be better- right on the beach and just a short walk to Coconut Tree Hill, Parrot Rock, and plenty of dining options. We were so impressed by the ocean-view rooms that we upgraded on the spot, and it made our stay even more special. We’re already looking forward to our next visit"
