Not a good experience

When we arrived the apartment had no couch as shown in the photos. Then the TV did not work would not switch on this was reported to the number provided. On the evening the tower fan did not work so we were left with an inadequate desk fan which was full of dust! The bed was like sleeping on a water bed ! We sent a what’s app message to the number provided and after 1hr we had not had a reply so we followed it up with a phone call. We also reported that the bathroom bin had no lid, the toilet brush was all rusty and all the skirting boards were full of dust. When we returned from our day out they had replaced the fan got the tv working and replaced the bathroom bin and toilet brush. We felt the room had not been used for a while and the furniture moved around as the bed was at a peculiar angle due to the removal of the couch! The doors were dirty and the curtains were hanging down. It was very unloved. There was 1 teaspoon and the hall/landing was very dirty with mud marks and the lift didn’t work. It looked like people were living there permanently . It took us 1 week to get our £200 deposit back from “pending” from the bank. We asked for compensation for the issues raised but we have not had a response. We don’t like leaving a bad review but we don’t think these premises are suitable. Would we recommend, definitely NOT.

Spacious apartment with a competitive price

The apartment was clean and spacious, with a suitable location. The kitchen was clean with enough utensiles. The towels, bedsheet and toilet were clean and we were comfortable to use them without doubt. To our surprise, there were two fans which gave us good comfort during the hot summer. The only down side was that the pan and saucepan were a bit old. A new set will be good. Also, a few more cutting knives will be convenient. Lastly, a few more hooks in the toilets to let us place our towels and clothes will also be great. Outside our room, we found that the laundary was a bit dirty, but we did not have to use it, so it was alright. One last thing, we did not realize we have to walk up 2 storeys. So, some warning in the description page will be good.

Nice studio apartment.

Nice studio apartment with everything I needed (but no toilet roll!). Very clean. This was during a heat wave. There is no air conditioning & the two fans were ineffectual. Luckily the balcony door opened fully. I would stay here again.

Good for the Price

The flat was fairly spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. The living room has a sofa bed, as well. Kitchen and living spaces were clean and tidy. The kitchen could have had more cooking equipment, considering it was a self-catering flat. For example, there was a pot but no colander! Local area was nice and people were friendly. Easy walk to several bus lines.

Not great!

Collection of keys is a bit of a palaver having to go to the hotel first. Apartment was on the ground floor and on entry smelled quite badly of tobacco smoke, despite being a non-smoking building. Apartment is fine with two seperate bedrooms but generally it was a bit tired with drink splashes on the walls which could do with a good clean and redecorating. The WiFi to the apartment was not working at all during our stay so working was impossible and the tv connection to streaming services was terrible. Some guests arrived at half past midnight and were exceptionally noisy, talking hands free on a mobile outside our bedroom window and arguing between themselves on entry to the building. The beds are lumpy and exceptionally warm, poor synthetic mattresses. On checking out I was asked how our stay was so I reported the WiFi and was told I should have connected! I won’t be staying here again.

Bathroom wasn’t that clean, internet didn’t work, we opened the window as it was very hot, and someone tried to get in. My wife and daughter were in the room at the time.

Likes: Convenient location, communication with the staff in the nearby hotel was good and after a mistake made on the booking they were very helpful in resolution, there was a row of shops across the road for quick grocery items. Dislikes: Poor quality furniture. The bed was so close to the wall that one of us was unable to get in and out easily. The bathroom cabinet was not screwed to the wall so unless you were very careful you might pull it down on top of you in getting in and out of the shower. The car park was wholly inadequate resulting in us having to use the pay car park opposite (meant you needed to get out by 9 a.m. to avoid having to pay). The back door lock did not work so whilst egress was fine using the button, getting with the key didn't work, so a walk round to the front was required. Loo seat was loose. Loo itself was very low so old folks need to be aware that getting up and down wasn't so easy. Sofa in the main lounge was past its sell by date. Wouldn't recommend or return, there are so many better in the area.

Ironically the hotel you pick your keys up from is lovely and the staff efficient and attentitive. The headlines are that this is cheap accommodation, and for the money it is good enough with a decent amount of space, good beds and was squeaky clean on arrival. The details - The carpark you arrive in looks like a bombed out town in the middle east. Shipping containers dotted around, cracked concrete that slopes off into a void between the buildings and car park. An inconvenient walk around the building follows. A bent front door that doesn’t open or close very well greets you, followed by your flimsy apartment door secured with a single lock in the middle. The apartment was clean enough and looked quite new. But, everything was very cheap and cheerful. Cheap furniture, no bedside lamps, washing machine cupboard door hanging off, loose bathroom tap and a broken tv. The tea cups are comically big, and cooking equipment clean, but lacking. The couch was hard and small. One of the bedroom doors didn't close and the fridge was smelly because it was turned off. For the money is was ok, but I’d rather spend more to get more.

Needs a Revamp

Place looks tired. Floors and curtains etc worn out. The cue cards for the place out of date. Wi Fi password didn’t work so had to call the hotel. The heating controls different to the photo and two radiators never came on. The controls to the heating system didn’t work. The large lounge tv has a purple line going down the screen as the screen is going. Three parking spaces taken up by a portakabin. Would not recommend this place.

Unimpressed by luxury apartments

When we arrived we discovered that there were no instructions supplied for any of the appliances. This is dangerous. We worked out how to use the oven by ourselves but we could not make the hob work at all. On Googling the issue (which we had to do as there were no instructions supplied) it appeared that the hob only worked on with certain types of saucepan. Fortunately we were able to use the microwave for cooking our beans. There was no oven glove supplied either; so we had to use a folded tea-towel to retrieve our hot meal from the oven. This is extremely dangerous. The bathroom is a death-trap. The toilet is crammed into the corner with so little room between it and the wall-heater that you have to sit on it at right angles to use it. My husband had to stand at right angles to it to use it. The shower is a lot higher than the floor and there is no grab handle. Also there is no way to keep the water running unless you keep one finger jammed on the on button; which makes having a shower a very long and rather inefficient process. Our daughter tried having a shower at bed time on the Saturday night (about 10.00) and there was no hot water at all: so not only did she have to keep her finger jammed on the button to keep the water running, it was freezing cold. Considering that these were supposed to be luxury apartments and we paid a lot of money for 2 nights we were extremely unimpressed. We have had better stays in budget hotels.

It was great to have a self contained flat. We brought groceries and cooked for ourselves. The only concern was to have better lighting at the back of the property. It was hard to see where we were walking.

It was great to have multiple spaces for us to work and have separate bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped. The shower lacked power, and the toilet seat needs fixing. It would have been nice to have some table lamps in the living room for a more relaxed feel.
