A nice resort with a wonderful staff
The resort itself is beautiful and well-maintained. The room was comfortable, with only a few minor issues. In our room, water would drain out of the walk-in shower into the room. That was easily fixed with a towel in front of the shower door. The water pressure was generally good, but occasionally a little on the light side.
The staff are wonderful. People are friendly and work hard. They are putting in long hours, but rarely let it show. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. We didn't really use our butler for very much, but he was friendly and always stopped by during the day to see how we were doing and to ask if we needed anything.
I would say the food was average. We have been to all-inclusive resorts in five countries, and we thought the food at this one left something to be desired. The buffet seemed to have the same food every day, with little change. The restaurants were a little better, but our daughter is 9 years old, so we weren't allowed to go to the French restaurant for dinner or the Italian restaurant for lunch with her. (They are "adult-only" for those meals.) If you advertise that you are family-friendly, I feel like you should allow people to eat in all of the restaurants for all meals. If you don't want to do that, then just be an adults-only resort. There are three Majestic resorts in Punta Cana; why not designate one or two of them adults only?
So, did we enjoy our stay? Yes, we did. Are we likely to go back there again? Probably not.
