Charming old place with some great local history. Great times are to be had at the bar/restaurant! We had room 7 and with the windows closed it was very quiet and relaxing! It was a good value stay. Enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and neighborhood!

Great for one night

The interior is very dated, but we enjoyed our stay. Even though we overlooked the main road, it wasn’t noisy. Our TV wouldn’t work but it was resolved very quickly. The staff were very friendly and attentive and breakfast was delicious

I had a great stay at the Sutherland Inn. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The food was very good. Since I had an early golf round, they made me a sack lunch to grab and go. Friendly staff - I would absolutely stay here again.

The hotel looked a little tired. But this was more than made up by the customer service and food. Would definitely recommend a visit if your looking for accommodation in Brora.

Unfortunately there are no disabled facilities here, although the staff were happy to carry our luggage upstairs for us as there are no ground floor rooms.Food was excellent and the staff although all young, were all extremely friendly and helpful.

Perhaps it’s the off season but was very disappointed. The proprietors were nice and the breakfast was good but the facilities had a lot to be desired. Plumbing and heating especially at £130 a night was terrible. Would not recommend or stay there again.

Good apart from the spin dryer at 11pm

It's right next to the A9, so we expected noise from the road at night. In reality there was almost no road noise at night. But a washing machine / spin dryer was used at 11pm for about minutes that made hour whole room shake.

Das Personal war sehr nett. Als wir eingecheckt hatten haben wir festgestellt, dass der Fernseher nicht funktionierte. Uns wurde daraufhin ein anderes ( größeres) Zimmer angeboten, in dem der Fernseher zumindest etwas funktionierte, was wir angenommen haben. ( Vielen Dank dafür). Leider ging der Fernseher dann in diesem Zimmer diesen Abend auch nicht mehr - am nächsten Morgen ging er aber wieder. Da wir nur eine Nacht hier waren, war dies schon etwas ärgerlich. Und das WLAN in unserem Zimmer ging sehr schlecht bis gar nicht, je nachdem, wo im Zimmer man sich befand. Das fand ich unmöglich! Das Zimmer selber war etwas altmodisch, aber sauber, das Bad war gewöhnungsbedürftig.... Ein eigener Parkplatz war nicht vorhanden, man musste in der Nähe auf einem öffentlichen Parkplatz parken, beim CoOp.

Sutherland Inn - One night stay

Sutherland was just fine for one evening. If you want to eat there you had better get there early as I arrived right around 7pm and was not able to order food. There is a co op across the street and a chinese take away next door however. You won't be parking close as you'll need to park across and down the street at the public lot. The stay was acceptable as I wanted to be close to Brora Golf Club for an early tee time the next day.

Average facility

Didn’t feel welcome when arriving, made to feel unwelcome at the restaurant. The room was comfortable but the toilet was very noisy when flushing. The lady at breakfast was lovely and the breakfast was good. There is no onsite parking, had to park at the towns car park which was a slight walk to the hotel and was free for 24hrs
