Great Springs! Inappropriate staff.
Love the springs, have been coming here for decades. Decided to get a room this time. The description was inaccurate and even calling to confirm, accurate details on what was in the room (i.e. microwave) were not provided. It was quite dirty but we saw staff come through daily & the housekeepers were very polite asking if we needed anything. Otherwise felt safe in the room, and it was quiet (low occupancy while we were there). We didn't get to use the closest upper pool since it is only open on the weekends, and we were there mid-week. We ordered take-out from the onsite restaurant Mary Murphy Steakhouse. Paid a premium and honestly thought we were all going to get sick. Burgers tasted like fish. The staff was very rude since we were just picking up (gratuity included, they would have gotten a bigger tip if I'd just tipped as usual!). Pizza & wings from the neighboring Market were equally priced but MUCH better and the staff was actually inviting in the Market. Hearing the front desk staff who were soaking near closing after their shift end about how they don't make enough, have to share housing, can't believe what the tourists pay, etc was extremely inappropriate. Yes, we live in an overpriced resort area as well, but it's inappropriate to discuss while onsite and around paying patrons. The grounds are well kept and plenty of parking. Still love the springs! But not sure I'd stay onsite again.
