We picked this hotel because its location, sits on W 48 St between 6th Ave and 5th Ave, right next to Rockefeller Center.
The hotel is brand new (opening on March 2026), and beautifully appointed, very modern and clean. Check-in process was done in a self-serve kiosk, but there is a staffed reception counter on the third floor. The elevator system for us was new; you type in your floor, flash your keycard, and the system assigns you a car (A1-A4), you step in, and off you go!
The room... Our King bed room was usable, but tiny, with barely 15 inches between the bed and the walls, the bathroom was small too (about 3ft by 9 ft) with a small outside sink (if you travel with a lot of beauty products you'll have issues), butthe bed was very comfortable. The room is listed as 242 sq-ft, but felt more like 90 sq-ft. We were telling a staff member that you couldn't roll out of the bed, and he jokingly said "Sounds like a plus!" 😂
The hotel has four dinning options, The Parlor on the 3rd level, Bar Rocco on the 2nd, Bar Messa on the 1st, and Messa in the basement. All excellent!
The staff was amazing! We remember Macarena, Lupe and Juan from Messa; Felipe, Tom and Derick from Bar Rocco; Edouardo, Leyla (and her cat Massi!), Hiram and Ramsey from Jade Rabbit; Veronica and Berkys from the Parlor. Jerry, Mark, Daniel, Mike and Tawney also helped us with minor requests.
Bottom line, the new Kimpton Era Midtown NYC was a 5-star experience, and will book it again whenever we come back.
