For 2 nights the guests in the chalet next to mine (3 men) were being excessively loud between 1-4am (loud music through speakers, drunkenly shouting etc). On the second night I informed guest services at 3:40am of the noise, they agreed to send the individuals a WhatsApp asking to keep the noise down. I asked twice for my chalet number would not be mentioned to the individuals, this was important as I was concerned for my safety being a young female solo traveller, guest services agreed. At 6am I had the male guests in the chalet next door aggressively banging on my door and constantly ringing the doorbell, I was completely terrified. Guest services informed me that they did give my room number to the individuals in the chalet next door. I explained that all that had to be said is there have been noise complaints from other guests at the resort. Mentioning my chalet number when I specifically asked them not to is an invasion of my privacy, I didn’t feel safe at the resort, and I was terrified to leave my chalet due to the men next door harassing me by banging on my door in the early hours of the morning. All guest services said was ‘they are checking out that day so it’s okay’. The rest of my trip was ruined as I felt extremely unwell following this incident.
I would strongly recommend that the Berjaya staff are trained to not hand out personal guest information and to also work on making guests feel safe on their resort. Having security patrolling the resort at might.
