I was dubious about this place when I booked it as I don't like camping and I do like my creature comforts, but actually I really loved it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Yosemite. Firstly, it's a really affordable option in Yosemite where the hotels and lodges are pretty pricey. It's also a great place to be based if you are planning to hike. There are lots of hikes that can easily be reached on foot from the camp so you don't need to drive to a trail head to start your walk. (We recommend Four Mile Trail up to Glacier Point and the Panorama Trail back down.)
The beds are actually really comfortable and, considering the conditions, the camps are very clean. The bedding is clean and comfortable and we slept really well. There are lots of toilet blocks which meant you didn't have to go far to use the restrooms, brush your teeth, etc. The showers are totally fine - again better than I expected. Nice and hot.
This is all the practical stuff, but I would also recommend staying there as it was really fun! There's a great atmosphere and lots of people around, especially if you go during the holidays or at the weekend. We built a fire (they have all the supplies you need in their on-site store) and did a BBQ. It's really fun to sit under the stars by the fire drinking G&Ts from camping mugs!
Tips: go prepared if you can (camping gear, food, etc). Bring lots of sanitising wipes for the picnic table. It gets really dirty from all the fires.
