Spend the extra $ somewhere else
Upon arriving, I found out that the hotel was under construction. In the beginning, I wasn’t even sure it was still open. When I called the front desk, the girl was not very friendly and basically just said “well if there’s not yellow tape in front of the door, then it’s open.” When I got to my hotel room, the smoke detector was beeping because the battery cover was off and there was no battery in the smoke detector. I called the front desk and asked to please come rectify the situation. I then left my room to grab food and drive around. When I returned, 4 hours later, the smoke detector was still beeping. At that time, I called the front desk and they finally sent a maintenance person who showed up with a cigarette and looked like a random person coming off the street. Although I had to open the door to see because the peep hole had been covered up. As I began to look around the room, I realized exactly how dirty it was. I have included pictures. Even though there was a sign in the room that said it was a no smoking room the smell of smoke stayed with me on my clothes, even after checking out of the hotel. The continental breakfast was the only nice touch. Luckily I was there early enough that there was plenty of room to sit and it still seemed relatively clean. However, I did take a picture of the attendant that was there in the morning who also just looked like a high school student had just rolled out of bed. On me, I guess, you get what you pay4
