Slumlords of the hotel industry
First and foremost, we booked at this hotel exclusively for the pool and hot tub. While checking in the receptionist informed us that it has not been open for months and the owners refuse to update the website that the pool is not in service. The side door key slot doesn't work, right next to where we were instructed to park. We noticed that the stairwell door was propped open on different occasions. The fire alarm in our room was disassembled and had no battery. The 2nd floor ice machine was out of service. The fridge in the room would not keep anything cold. There was no laundry bag in the room for dirty clothes (not a huge inconvenience.) Next to all of this, the housekeepers knocked on our door every 20 minutes after 8 am. Check out isn't until 11am, let us sleep. The hallways and elevators smelled awful. The only reason that I am giving this property more than 1 star is because the breakfast was good and the receptionists were great at their jobs and definitely deserve a raise.
Long story short if you are expecting a nice relaxing swim and the opportunity to sleep in, book elsewhere. So much false advertising here. I rarely leave bad reviews, because I work in the hospitality industry as well, but I feel like all of this needed to be addressed and not just dumped on the receptionists.
