Triple check your payment
I have to give 1 star for incompetence on the hotel staff. The actual stay itself was fine, breakfast was good, room was clean, but the 1 star comes from the fact that I specifically booked the rooms as "Pay at the property," and somewhere along the lines that was misunderstood. I personally paid my portion and had 2 other rooms under my name who would be paying the next day. Instead accepting that payment, the hotel attempted to charge my credit card multiple times for different amounts. That would be ok, however, the name under the charge was different from the actual hotel name... This meant it was flagged as a fraudulent charge and I had to cancel my card thinking it was fraud because the charged name was not the hotel name. After a Google search I found no apparent relation. For someone living in Germany or Europe that may not be a big deal, however, for someone who doesn't live there with a bank in America things became quite tricky, especially because I need my card to book other hotels while I'm here. Now I have no credit card, and potentially the inability to receive one from abroad. I've already spent 5 hours dealing with the fraud and trying to get a new card, and at this point am unsure if it will happen.
So the actual stay itself was good, besides the horrible Wifi. But messing up things like payment is lack of training or a clear system. I always thought the Germans love their systems, but this one in this case seemed to be broken.
