Subject: Unacceptable Treatment at Hotel – Denied Check-In for My Spouse and Child
My wife and daughter were traveling cross-country and arrived at this hotel after 11 p.m., only to be denied check-in because the reservation was made under my name. Despite my wife being on the phone with me—on speaker—and me clearly verifying that she is my spouse and that the room was intended for her and our daughter, the front desk attendant refused to allow them to check in.
Given the late hour and concern for their safety, I made the unfortunate decision to book a second room in her name, trusting that this would be resolved through Hotels.com and hotel management the next day. I contacted Hotels.com immediately and their representative assured me the issue could be fixed.
Unfortunately, not only was the night staff unreasonably rigid, but the management the next day was equally inflexible and dismissive.
This experience was deeply frustrating and completely avoidable. It reflects a lack of basic customer service, discretion, and compassion—especially toward a mother and child traveling late at night.
I do not recommend this hotel. Travelers, beware.
