The historical neighbourhood was developed in the late 19th century and much of the original architecture still remains, such as Rollin's College, the first 4-year college in the state of Florida. Winter Park is also famous for its cultural festivals, including the Sidewalk Art Festival, which has taken place annually in the area for over 50 years. The festival features some of the world's best artists and is one of the oldest and largest outdoor art festivals in the United States.
