The Garfield Park Conservatory includes about 2 acres of diverse indoor tropical plants and gorgeous water and stone elements, as well as an additional 12 acres of seasonal outdoor gardens. The conservatory houses thousands of different kinds of plants, making it a great day trip for nature and garden enthusiasts.
The exotic flower displays in The Showhouse are rotated every few months. Little ones will love the interactive Children’s Garden, and those looking for a great spot for colourful photos are sure to be impressed. You may also enjoy one of the conservatory’s special events, which have included Beer Under Glass and Creatures of the Night.

Highlights of Garfield Park Conservatory
You'll find 8 different rooms, each featuring a specialised climate to nurture different plant types. Sugar from the Sun is one of the most recently added exhibits and highlights the fascinating process of sugar production by plants.
In the Palm House, you'll find palms climbing to the top of the vaulted ceiling as well as a diverse selection of tropical foliage. As you walk through the Aroid House, you'll notice the beautiful Persian pool adorned with 16 floating yellow lily pads. The remaining houses include The Fern Room, Show House, Elizabeth Morse Genius Children’s Garden, Desert House, and Horticulture Hall.

Garfield Park Conservatory is located in West Chicago near the crossroads of Lake Street and North Central Park Avenue and offers free parking as well as bike corrals. Admission is free, but donations to aid in the upkeep of the gardens are greatly appreciated.
