This is a brand new hotel, that has been well appointed. It is in a quiet location, a short walk from Avándaro centro. It has a lovely pool area and a very well equipped gym. The rooms are well appointed apart from lacking any air conditioning or even a fan, which makes them very stuffy. We also found that hot water was not always available and the water pressure was low.
At the moment the restauarant is closed but I am sure that it will be nice when opened.
But the big downfall here was the availability and lack of attention given by the staff. When we checked in, we were allocated the incorrect room. This was soon realised by the staff and we were asked to move to the correct room, but with no offer of any assistance with our bags that we had started to unpack. We were offered a bottle of wine as a recompense, but this simply didn’t come. We asked several times and heard lots of excuses why it was not available. In the end, I proactively suggested on our last evening that they should at least offer beers from the mini bar as complimentary.
The reception desk is rarely manned, whenever you have any requests, no one answered the phone and we had to go walking around the hotel grounds to find someone. Likewise, when we wanted to check out at 0815am, no one was on duty until 9am so we had to leave the keys with the cleaning staff!
All this is ashame, as the hotel is quite beautiful and has a lot of potential, but lacks basic welcoming and attentive service from the staff.
