Good for what it is - just be aware of what it is
SLS is part of a 3-hotel complex, with Grand Hyatt and Rosewood making up the trio.
It is a large hotel with a lot of rooms - though still considerably smaller than the Grand Hyatt. All 3 hotels are linked by a ground floor casino and shopping area.
There are a number of different restaurants and food outlets, both inside and outside (near the beach). There are also a good number of pools and a reasonable area of beach to relax at.
With all this being said, it is so large that it is very easy to feel completely anonymous for the whole time you are there. There is a general feeling of being another number - from the generic check-in speech (the highlight of which was being told that the mini-bar is weight sensitive and if you move anything you will be charged!) to the 40 minutes it took to get some ice delivered to the room.
The daily charge of around $100 for the 'resort fees' seems quite a lot, though does at least include access to the on-site waterpark (otherwise $165 per person, per day!).
Food will cost upwards of $30 per person (for a light meal) and $70 per person (for a more regular meal).
You are encouraged to use your digital wristbands for payments (that will add the cost to your room), though cards are generally accepted too.
Overall, it's a good place to stay if you are looking for somewhere that you don't need to leave the resort and have a varied selection of food options. If you like quiet, personalised service, this is probably not for you.
