Unfortunately, our stay at PortoBay Liberdade did not fully meet our expectations for a 5-star hotel.
Upon arrival, we were disappointed that the hotel’s VIP perks, which we were expecting, were not provided.
After our first night, we spent the day exploring the city and returned at 17:00, only to find that our room had not been cleaned. We had to contact the staff to have this resolved.
On the second day, after another long day out, we returned to our room and were shocked to discover an eaten apple left on our suitcase.
Additionally, our spa treatment was delayed by half an hour, and we were only informed about this at the last minute.
On the positive side, the hotel’s central location is excellent, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was rich and enjoyable.
Overall, while there are some highlights, we expected a much higher standard of service from a hotel of this rating.
