Hotel canceled my reservation while I was en route, evacuating my home due to a pending hurricane. It would have been helpful to have a warning when booking that reservation is not guaranteed if not paid in full at time of reservation, although “reservation” literally means that I am reserving a room.
Additionally, it might have been helpful to receive a cancellation notice by text or email, rather than being told on arrival, after a five hour drive. Luckily, I was able to secure a much nicer accommodation elsewhere, so my dogs and I weren’t forced to sleep in my car during a hurricane.
