This is a very traditional pub, but feels very welcoming. They have kept things quite traditional and welcome all kinds of people. Every Tuesday they have a quiz night. The rooms are on the far end of the pub, so it is very quiet at night. The room was very basic, but had everything I needed - a single bed, a bedside cabinet and an en-suite bathroom. There was a built in wardrobe, with a full length mirror on the inside of the door. I didn't need to use either, but nice that they are there. There was also a desk with chair and a small TV stood on the desk. I didn't use the TV. I put my phone on the desk, in order to use the plug to charge my phone. I couldn't see any other plug sockets in the room. The bed was comfy enough. I managed to get the right temperature on the shower this morning. There was a shower curtain. Never my favourite thing to use.The toilet was quite a slow flush. It was quiet for breakfast time. A few workers came in after I had started my breakfast and sat in the main pub. They ordered breakfast, which was nice to see local working people coming at breakfast time. This was around 8.30am. There was a variety of choice for cereal, along with fruit and yoghurt.
I had the full English breakfast. This didn't include black pudding, which I'm happy not having.
I would have liked a side plate for my toast, rather than it having been put on the plate.
I would stay there again.
