I have stayed there once before during multiple bowfishing guides at lake Brownwood. The staff is very helpful, rates are great, and security is pretty good. My second stay was good, and I have already booked another stay there for next weekend

The commode was broken. The Chairs were worn out. And the cushions on the chairs were raggedy. The small refrigerator needed defrosting badly. The tire curtain fell out and they had to come fix it. The plugs by the bed did not work.

I usually stay at the Gate One Motor Inn because the rooms are clean, they have double queen beds, the staff is friendly, and you can tell they've been updating things. I don't usually book ahead, but the one time I used a booking site, they put me in an outdated room. The floors were coming up, there were cobwebs on the walls, the lights were wonky, the top sheet was literally a shower curtain, and the bedspread was covered in cigarette burns. The person at check-in wasn't very nice, either. It didn't help that it was Brownwood Hometown Reunion weekend and everywhere was packed. I'd suggest just showing up instead of booking ahead if you stay there. I hate leaving a bad review since it's usually clean, comfy, and a good deal.

The staff is awesome! They are so accommodating. Iwas staying here on a business trip through the whole 4th of July weekend. My wife and daughter came to visit. My daughter brought here little dog, and they were totally understanding about the situation. Very cool staff!

Worse experience EVER and very unsafe. We had some random guy banging on our door at 5AM asking to use a phone and after arguing with him he finally left. There was no phone in the room to call the office so I had to look it up online. And once I finally got ahold of someone it was like i was bothering him because there was an issue. Also the bathroom was disgusting

The rates were great. The room was clean. I was in town for the weekend running bowfishing guides on Lake Brownwood, and needed a place to stay. I was worried about my gear possibly getting stolen, but these folks keep a real close eye on things. I was very impressed. I will definitely be staying there again.

This is an older facility that has been remodeled. Room was clean, location was great, and the staff was very polite and helpful. The bathroom in our room could use some updating but was ok. For the price we were quite satisfied.

We had some of our construction workers scheduled to stay there. They send me a video of the accommodations. The room had bugs, the sheets were dirty, they would not stay there due to the cleanliness issues. Management refused to issue a refund even though our employees checked out immediately. Definitely would NOT recommend.
