I feel compelled to convey my disappointment at the lack of responsiveness to a range of problems throughout my three-night stay, having waited a week for a managerial follow-up to my complaints to staff on reception for three mornings in a row. I was hoping for a tranquil experience during an important business trip, but my expectations were dashed. It transpires that the property is more of a student residence than a hotel, though the pricing does not reflect this reality. My first major issue was to do with being awoken by extended bouts of excessive noise from Spanish- and English-speaking youngsters on nights one and three, respectively at 2am and 5am, which went unresolved because the supposedly 24-hour hotline did not answer my calls. My second major issue was to do with sudden fluctuations in the temperature of the shower every thirty seconds, which scalded me on six separate uses. I imparted these problems in Spanish to the same member of the hotel team every day but was never offered any goodwill gesture, not even an alternative room. As compensation for these issues, well below the standard of other bookings through Hotels.com over many years, I would be grateful for a refund of nights one and three, when the disruptive circumstances were most severe.
