Petra
The Hotel is just a few steps from the entrance to the Petra site.It is modern,clean,with excellent personnel and friendly staff.Only the restaurant quality is at a lower standard ,serving good breakfast but modest quality dinners(we had 2).

I could stay there again.
Rooms are extremely small. This is not a hotel to travel with a family. We were travelling with our two children and we had to book two rooms. The maintenance is not the main quality of the hotel but the staff is freindly and service oriented (except those in the reception). The brightest side of the hotel is its location, next to the main entrance of Petra and rooms with a great view (though some of them very noisy). In general, I could stay there again. However, if you are a picky traveller, try to find a room in the Movenpick.

What a dump
Old, dirty, depressingly bad service .... And a complete rip off. Crowne plaza management should hang their heads in shame. 2 star at best. Anyone going to Petra wanting a five star experience should head for the move pick next door.....

Perfect
This hotel is perfect, perfect location, perfect rooms. It is 5 minute walk to the gates of petra it is a beautifull hotel staff where lovely. I will be at this hotel again. The cheapest price we got was from Hotels .com I like the fact that we got a big discount for paying up front and all tax etc were included in the price this was a big bonus to us. No worries.

No es un hotel ni de 5 ni de 4 estrellas. Nos prometieron internet gratuito y nos lo quisieron cobrar. Nos cobraron la habitación dos veces.

Me cobraron dos veces
Me hicieron pagar la habitacion otra vez, dijeron que me devolverian el dinero no me devlvieron nada !!! bueno dicen que hoteles.com nunca pago la reservacion y tengo dos cargos en mi tajeta !!!

Starting to fray at the edges, but still has a great location and general comfort.
This was a great location, very near to the gate at Petra, and generally comfortable, but it would be barely 4 stars, in my opinion. The view is magnificent, but the terrace dining experience was difficult with stray cats winding their way through legs - human and table! The pool has a gorgeous view, but the water was almost hot and the ladder was not fastened tightly. For the price, it's probably better to look elsewhere.

Petra can be seen from the window
All Crown Plaza Hotels in Jordan are own by the government's Social Security fund. The View from the window was excellent. We could see Petra just looking out the window. Although, we had a few problems with plumbing. The overall Hotel stay was good.

This hotel was worth the money
The location of this hotel make it ideal for visiting Petra throughout the day and then accessing some restaurants which are close by. Rooms were a good size and beds were comfortable. Plenty of car parking available also. I'd stay there again.

Would Not Recommend the Crown Plaza in Petra
My husband and I were not impress with the Crown Plaza at all. We stayed in Amman for a couple of day s and was very impressed with the Intercontinental hotel. We were looking for the "wow" affect, cleanliness of the hotel and room, friendliness of the Staff, room service options. Not of these services were satisfactory. The hotel representation at the front desk said you have the best room. We were excited! When we got to the room it was a total dissatisfaction. The room was old, grimy, the toilets were yellow (stained from the lack of cleaning), the carpets were all ripped, the closet door were falling apart, it couldn't close, as well as the draws within the closet, and very dusty and dirty. We contacted the hotel staff to asked them if we can have a different room. They told us it's the best room. My husband was asked to bring down two martini glasses down to the bar before he could order another 2. We wanted to cut our lost and check into the Wolfpag. The only good thing about this hotel is its about a 3 minute walk to the entrance gate of Petra. But for the money per night - $300 We would have rather stayed in town and drive to Petra. The town of Petra is actually 5 minutes away from Petra. There is a large parking lot for car and bus. Was very disappointed with the room. We have pictures to clarify our stay as well as all our findings of uncleanliness and ripped carpet and water stained on the walls and ceiling.

Old and Tired
The tout of this hotel is its proximity to the entrance of Petra, which is indeed true. However, the hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. Rooms are small, decor is old, and the hotel smelled like a nursing home. For the money, not worth it when there are now other alternatives just minutes away. Crowne, time for a face-lift.

Right next to Petra!
We wanted a good hotel and near the entrance to Petra. Crown Plaza was ideal. In fact there is a separate entrance to the visitors center from the hotel. Very upscale hotel for the area, room service was exceptional and the air conditioning worked!
