Room was wonderful! Check in and out was easy. Everything was clean. It was truly really great. My only suggestion would be to have housecoats since you have to go through the parkade to the pool. But now that we know l, when we come back we will bring out own! 10/10!

The major problem: The owners/managers don’t communicate with us at all, despite multiple attempts during and after our stay. Not once. Totally unacceptable. The unit itself is OK. The shower taps are broken, the unit is over some sort of HVAC vent, so it sounds like a snowblower is going off outside your living room on a regular basis.

We really enjoyed our suite. I was really well equiped and very comfortable. The only disappointment was the pool, which was in the basement of another building and the water was very cold and the cleanliness could be improved.

We had a great stay at Solara Resort & Spa. The owners were very easy to reach and responded quickly to any questions or concerns, which we really appreciated. The unit itself was clean, spacious, and well stocked with everything we needed to feel comfortable during our stay. The location is excellent — right in Canmore and only minutes from Banff and surrounding attractions. For the size of the space and the number of people it can accommodate, the price was very reasonable. There were a few minor issues that kept it from being a full five stars. The hot water in the showers didn’t last very long and there wasn’t much ability to adjust the temperature. The walls seemed a bit thin, so we could hear outside noise at times. There was also a periodic loud sound from the ventilation system that could be startling, especially at night when trying to fall asleep. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider booking here again.

I loved the comfortable bed, kitchen, grill and patio. The directions to find the underground garage were confusing because there was not a round about but a portico where the entrance was. The electronic key entry did not work when we checked in and had to have the property manager out to open our door. This took an hour and a half because security had to end up coming out with a security FOB to open our door. There was a constant leak in the laundry room and it took 5 days to repair what ever was leaking. You could only access the Aurora suites through the parking garage which was quite bizarre.

My wife and I were extremely excited to stay at this property. We are about to expect our first baby and had planned this getaway as our last babymoon before her arrival. Communication was excellent, and while the check-in and check-out details were odd, the instructions were very straightforward. Upon arrival to the property to our immediate disappointment, every single elevator in the Aurora building was down "due to scheduled maintenance" With no alternative supportive route this obviously put a huge bad taste in our mouths as my wife is 8.5 months pregnant and now has to go up and down at least 3 flights of stairs anytime we wanted to leave the room. The sign showed this was in effect for MONTHS prior to our arrival, yet it was not indicated anywhere in the property's details. We had no choice as this was not a hotel, and we simply couldn't just move to a different room or book somewhere else at a huge cost for the last minute. The room itself was as advertised and was impeccably clean, however there was clearly some sort of flooding incident as about a 1/3 rd of the ceiling in the kitchen and dining room had plastic squares bolted to the ceiling. There were also multiple burned-out bulbs in the suite. Due to the elevator situation, we only visited the pools once, which was also disappointing, as we ultimately chose this property for this feature. While the pools themselves were as expected, the entire pool area does not appear like the photos at all.

Don’t stay here

Arrived only to find that the elevator was not operable. There was zero communication that this unit was not fully accessible and I contacted the person immediately to say unfortunately this won’t work for accessibility reasons. They were nice in the moment and totally understood and said they were sorry and would provide a full refund and I just needed to call Hotels.com to effect the cancellation. There is no call option for hotels.com so I interacted with a wonderful agent via chat who also confirmed I would receive a full refund and that they had also escalated the issue as the property must declare there is no elevator access and stairs only. Despite all the assurances of a refund / and I then also had to scramble to find another reservation in Canmore - which I did and also booked via hotels.com as I had been told there would be a refund coming for the original booking - all I got as a gold member with more than 40 nights stay this year alone was a total run around. Hotels says they can’t reach the owner and needs the name position and title etc of the people I talked to. All of this seems very unfair and definitely not good service in any way shape or form. I definitely wish this could have been much easier and the owner would have just made good on his word instead of totally shafting me and going back on his promise to ensure that the refund would be taken care of and that hotels.com would value their customers more to ensure that this was in fact taken care of.
