Work in progress
As of March 2025, the second floor pool is not finished. Construction is noisy. And yet prices are expensive. Elevator is small and you'll be waiting a long time especially on busy days. The rooftop pool and drag brunch bring in a big crowd. Better to use the stairs. Rooms are small and minimalist but nice. Linens and toiletries are top notch.

WONDERFUL!
It's been a few weeks now since my stay at The Tryst but I'm still left with the lasting impression of just how lovely this hotel and it's staff are. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left 15 nights after, it was nothing short of wonderful. Everyone goes out of their way to make you comfortable and relaxed. The rooms and communal areas are all fantastic and it's just a few mins from the beach and the action. I can't wait to return.

The noise......
I had for nights in Tryst hotel. I had an amazing room with two balconies. Main problem is that the hotel is still under construction. It meant that I could not use my balconies due to noise every day from 8:30-17:30 and the amount of dust coming from the construction work 2 floors down. On top of that the hallways and the reception/restaurant area is also under construction. The hotel has a very nice rooftop terrace with a pool. There is public access to the roof top, and given the size of it, it can become crowded. In all fairness the hotel did offer me a compensation for the inconveniences.

Exciting first visit to the Tryst PV
I only had a night at the trust Puerto Vallarta, but I’ll definitely be back when I visit again. The place is gorgeous! The design is so thoughtful, and the interior design is really smart. The staff is super friendly and the service is amazing. I loved my room with a view of the water. I could’ve just sat on the balcony for hours. The rooftop bar was stunning, especially for sunset! And the lobby restaurant has been delicious. There’s a bit of construction going on next door on the street, but it didn’t bother me at all. A fine trade off for having such a stunning open air property.

Construction issues
Unfortunately, the experience was significantly impacted by ongoing construction noise, which made it difficult to relax and truly enjoy my time there. The noise was persistent and disruptive, affecting the entire stay. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the staff and service were excellent—they were the one saving grace of the experience. Their professionalism and attentiveness stood out, and I truly appreciate their efforts. However, given the level of disruption, I feel that some form of acknowledgment or resolution would be appropriate. I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously for future guests, as I had higher expectations based on the reputation of the hotel.

Great New Hotel
Hotel is lovely: well designed, well situated, friendly staff. Food was good, the view from the pool was spectacular and the maintenance was superior. Lone complaints would be the too-stiff pillows and the lack of notice on their website that Sundays are noisy: drag brunch in the a.m. and pool party in the p.m.

Do Not Stay Here Until It’s Complete
We were prepared for some noise and construction based on prior reviews, but what we encountered was far from ideal. Upon check-in, we asked the front desk agent Efron about the ongoing construction and were told it was just "minor changes" the owner wanted to make. In reality, we quickly realized that the building’s only elevator, serving 8 floors, was incredibly slow, so we often opted for the stairs. Once we reached our room on the second floor, it became clear that this floor wasn't fully completed. Had we been informed about the unfinished state of the floor beforehand, we could have decided whether to stay in a space prone to dust and noise. The room itself was decent—simple, with an industrial feel—but lacked basic amenities like a closet, robes, and a full-length mirror. The bed was comfortable, but that’s where the positives ended. We experienced multiple issues with the water supply, which cut out twice. The first time was while I was brushing my teeth, and it came back on shortly after. Later that night, the water made loud, jackhammer-like noises. The next morning, while showering, the water cut off for a couple of minutes. When I informed the front desk, they responded with, “We’ll alert maintenance,” which was less than reassuring. As if the water issues weren't disruptive enough, we were also woken up early by construction starting at 8:30 AM. Staff is the best!! Cool design of hotel. Rooms on the smaller side. Construction noise on building intense at times, especially early in the morning. Restaurant still has a ways to go food quality wise to reach its desired reputation. Close to beach. Could benefit guests to have a cooperative collaboration, or at least discounts, with one of the beach clubs. Again staff is wonderful, especially Fabian, Fernando, Oscar up front…Chris, Brian, Israel at bars. We were there for 10 days. I hope this place really catches on!

The Tryst Hotel in Puerto Vallarta is sexy, modern, and a relaxing gay oasis in the heart of the Romantic Zone. We spent a lot of time at the rooftop pool. However, I believe the staff are what set this place apart. The staff were professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Brian took excellent care of us and ensured our drinks were never empty. Oscar went out of his way to ensure my birthday was special. I am already planning my next trip.

Minimalist charm, but overpriced.
This place is still completing construction. Overall it was decent but not worth the prices they are charging. The common areas, especially the rooftop with pool are the highlights. The room itself was underwhelming. I estimate that it was about half full when I was there.

Stylish, comfortable, well located property with ultra helpful staff. It is a very new and recently opened property so there are a few problems to iron out and some facilities to be completed but this is going to be a winner.

It's an excellent place to stay and will, I'm sure become the go to for the gay traveler wanting a more upscale property. I would've given all 5 stars had it not been for the current construction, which is expected to be completed by beginning of 2025. I will be staying at this property again. Most definitely.

If you are looking for an upscale LGBTQ hotel in PV, THIS is the place! The hotel itself is gorgeous with beautiful ocean views and great aesthetic details. My room had an unobstructed gorgeous view of the ocean. It took my breath away as I walked into my thoughtfully designed room. The staff is top notch-- friendly, gorgeous, and make you feel at home. They also had a few shows, including a drag brunch. The show was excellent, and the food and drinks were delicious. The pool area is stunning with incredible views of the city and ocean. The other LGBTQ option near is great, but Tryst is just superior. The staff doesn't police you as they do at… and the decor is next level at Tryst. It's clear that the owner wanted to create something special, paying close attention to the inclinations of the LGBTQ community. The location is great and close to all the LGBTQ hotspots. There is no need to take a taxi, and it is a flat walk to the gayborhood. It is extremely safe, as I would walk back to the hotel after a night out and felt secure. There are also a ton of restaurants, shopping, and the ocean is a stone’s throw away. My only critique is that there was some construction noise, but that's understandable since the hotel is still under construction (a little discount would have been nice but meh). Overall, this place is awesome. If you’re looking to treat yourself, stay here. I like to visit PV every year and will be staying at Tryst the next time I am back.
