Great location, just across the bridge from the historic town centre of Strasburg, you can walk everywhere. We took a classic double room in the renovated old building which has loads of atmosphere and fits in beautifully with the old timber-framed homes of the city. The room was well-appointed and clean, but a big problem: it was mid-twenties weather outside, but since it was October the hotel had switched from air-conditioning to heating, and there was no air circulation in the room and no temperature control. They told me to keep the windows open instead, but there was only one window and it opened out right onto a walkway that guests use to access their rooms. They moved us to another room, more spacious but still no air circulation at all, and fortunately they provided a fan, which helped a lot. But at the price they charge for a room in this hotel, it was unacceptable. They say they hope the problem might be fixed when they do their next renovation of the hotel. Note that the reception desk was of no help whatsoever in this; we are grateful to Gustav who carried up our bags and parked our car, who went out of his way to provide a solution. Otherwise we would have had to find another hotel.
