Ok but don’t expect breakfast

The room was good although the controller to the tv didn’t work. The property is on an inlet off the lake, not directly overlooking the lake as the description alludes to. It states that a hot continental breakfast is included however do not plan on having breakfast here. We walked in to a couple of slices of bread and some dried up eggs and that was it. No waffle batter, cereal, muffins etc. Asked at reception if more was coming out and the answer was a simple no. There is a delicious cafe over the road though which we would highly recommend for breakfast.

Grounds were nice. Location on the canal. Pool area was nice with shaded gazebos. Bar was closed due to renovations. Wonderful multi level observation tower with seating to see the beautiful view of Lake Okeechobee. Hotel is older and needs some tlc. Everyone working there was friendly. Room was comfortable. This is not a shiny new hotel and it does have flaws. But the price was good. Breakfast was great with scrambled eggs, sausage, bread’s yogurt, cereal, waffles.

Cops were there trespassing someone when I showed up. It was myself, the cop, the perp, and the employee all standing at the front desk for 30 min while they all argued. I eventually spoke up and asked if I could check in. The hotel was nasty, everything is old, ac didn’t work, shower didn’t work

I booked a package deal through Expedia and was charged for the entire 3 days on my debit card when it should have only been the refundable deposit. I was told by staff that it was being refunded and wont know until its actually there. I stayed 3 nights and housekeeping did not come to take the trash or give clean towels and washcloths. The breakfast was nothing different from any other hotel. It was quiet. I would stay again considering I dont have to fight to get my money back.
