I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times before, but this was by far the worst experience. To start, the lady at the front desk demonstrated poor customer service. We were under the impression that we only owed a certain amount at property, but the final amount was 3xs more . This required us to transfer money, and not wanting to hold up the line, we stepped aside. Once the transfer was complete, the front desk agent informed us that we had to get back in line—which had filled up again by that point.
Additionally, the staff working the elevators created more frustration. They were instructing people who were going down to get on the elevator regardless of their destination, which caused the elevator to stop on every floor. This led to unnecessary delays, with everyone having to get out to let those going up exit, only to take it back down.
The issues continued at Steak ’n Shake, where we experienced the worst customer service. We waited for 15 minutes without the manager or cashier acknowledging us—not even a simple ‘we’ll be right with you.’ After counting the drawer, the cashier still didn’t acknowledge us. When I asked if someone would assist us, he casually replied, ‘yeah,’ but continued to ignore us for several more minutes. Finally, he laughingly told the cleaning staff—who had no idea we were waiting—that there was someone to assist. She promptly apologized for the rudeness of the others and kindly took our order.
Overall, this experience fell far short of the previous.
