Very old-school hotel that looks much newer in the pictures. Our ocean-view room was spacious, but the room smelled terrible and felt very muggy. We put our belongings in Room 1535 and went to the pool. The pools were warm and the lazy river was nice, but everything looked very outdated. When we returned to the room, we saw two cockroaches running from the fridge to the bathroom and another on the bathroom wall. Absolutely disgusting. We went to the front desk to complain and were moved to the opposite side of the hotel on a different floor, Room 815. The staff’s response was, “It’s Myrtle Beach, it’s expected,” which was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. Room 815 was cluttered and looked like a storage/junk room. After checking the room, we showered and went to bed. Three hours later, we woke up to another cockroach on the side of the tub. At that point, we had to wash all of our clothing and spent over $20 doing so. Breakfast looked NASTY and not many options. (Id never eat there after seeing roaches) Management offered a $50 credit, which does not come close to making up for the experience. This stay was unsanitary, uncomfortable, and extremely disappointing. I do NOT recommend anyone stay here.

First room we were given had a broken toilet and the flushing lever was sitting outside of the toilet. Clearly broken. We were given another room and it was Filthy. The walls were disgusting, and needed washed (boogers, toothpaste, mystery stains). Floors were dirty and had crumb and debris. One headboard had kiss marks smeared on it and the bedding was stained. The other headboard had brown stains on wood. The doors and furniture looked like it had been in a flood and badly needed replaced. We needed the Murphy bed as well and there were no additional blankets so we used towels. The shower had obviously not been cleaned as there was residue from the bar soap, in the shape of the bar stuck to the tub. It was all too late to deal with that night but we checked out the next morning and had to find somewhere else to stay. Overall everything was stained, outdated, and generally felt sticky/unclean. We will not be back and I absolutely do not recommend.

Our stay was not great. The room was dirty and we found cockroaches. The breakfast buffet had very limited and repetitive items every day, with no fruits, pancakes, or waffles. The kids hated the choices. The bedroom was in the entrance, close to the hallway, and people were running and shouting until midnight. The bed was horrible, making squeaky sound even if we toss and turn, and the air conditioning didn’t work well. We couldn’t sleep because of the noises and the broken air conditioning. Balcony view was good. The swimming pool and lazy river were nice, but that’s not enough to make up for the overall unpleasant experience. If you’re not on a tight budget, I recommend spending more money to stay in a better place for a more enjoyable vacation.

We loved staying here! The room was clean and there were plenty of towels. It was a very cold weekend and it was an absolute win that the pools are heated!!!!! The staff was fantastic and Ishmell at front desk was a great first point of contact. We will definitely come back for another visit. Thank you!!!

Staff is very courteous. Suites are very accommodating. Ocean view is spectacular. And, breakfast is spectacular with a great variety to choose from and hot to boot. If anyone leaves hungry, it will be their fault. We love Monterey Bay Suites and have been selecting this hotel for many, many years. Will be back soon.

Everything was wonderful from the check-in.. the beautiful comfortable suite.. The luscious bedding.. and the beautiful porch set up.. We love this hotel and come here every year at the same time for our anniversary.. and hotels.com made it really affordable.. no hassle booking online.. paid a small deposit and the rest was due upon arrival.. I wish I got the name of the person that checked us in it was about 4:30 in the afternoon.. That person was lovely.. helpful.. and knowledgeable

Everything was clean, but starting to worn and well used. Having a hot breakfast each day was a bonus - you don't see that a lot outside of hotels. The pools were clean and the hot tubs were actually nice and toasty. Staff were friendly and helpful!

room was not cleaned as expected, had to go get towels, neither tv worked properly the entire time, reported it 4 times, came late the night before we left, still could not fix it, said they had a cable issue a few days before, one tv was not hooked to cable at all, i would like a refund for my inconvenience, the front desk also just hung u[p on me twice

The staff when checking in during the week were so very nice. We liked it so much we extended our stay, but the weekend staff were very rude. The room we were moved to was not as nice as the first and there was evidence of cockroaches still. Other than that the beach view was amazing and beach access was great. The pools were great and so were the hot tubs.

Great shower pressure, excellent shower!! The breakfast was really good-ladies and gentlemen they serve REAL eggs not that powdered stuff! We were there 3 mornings and they switched it up with sausage, bacon and French toast. The coffee was lacking though, I won't lie. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Now let's talk about this parking deck. I don't know who in the world engineered this crazy maze but it is awful. To say it is tight..is an understatement. There is barley any room to turn the corners. You have about 3 inches on each side. It is a nightmare!!! I was scared to death I would scrape the front or tail end of my car! And there is a red sprinkler system pipe that runs in all the parking stalls so when you open your hatch to unload your luggage-beware! I smacked the tail of my car into that and put a nice red scratch on the door. And finally, there was a roach. 1. But where there is one there is more just hiding in the crevices. We cooked a pizza in the oven and I preheated the oven. The little dude must have been hiding behind the stove and ran out when it headed up. He begged me not to kill him with a pleading look in his eyes but I thought its you or me ....so I swatted. Well he premeditated that move and dove between the stove and the wall. I doused him with the little bottle of Palmolive soap they put in your kitchen area (oh they give you dish soap and a nice little sponge) but this didn't do anything but make him retreat further in the crack.

Learned a lesson on check-in. Ocean FRONT is different than ocean VIEW. Cost me another $150 for the FRONT. I feel like that should be publicized on the website. Other than that it went well staff was nice pretty comfortable conditions. It’s an older building and parking. Garage is tight, we had a very nice stay.
