Gin tonic or water
I travel often for business and I find myself constantly staying in hotel across Europe and North America. This particular time my stay was short and overall first impression on the hotel and the design was very positive; the hotel was eclectic and fashionable. After a night out of dinner I was relaxing with my colleague playing billiards when we decided to order a drink from the bar which turned out to be quite the experience. We ordered a simple gin and tonic and what we got was completely shocking; at first glance it looked like a normal glass of water because there was no ice, no lime and flat tonic. I asked the bartender where the ice was and he looked surprised to find out that gin tonic cocktail should have ice in it and lime. After moderately remedying the situation with 2 tiny ice cubes, we ended the night and went to our rooms. As I lied down to fall asleep, I realized that the one pillow I was provided was extremely thin and uncomfortable. Upon calling the front desk to request another pillow, they advised me that unfortunately pillows could only be provided to me the next morning, which was the day of my check out, since my stay for only for one night. I think it’s outrageous that a luxury hotel bar doesn’t think its necessary to add ice, lime and actual fresh tonic to a 12€ mixed gin and tonic and also does not provide a pillow when requested. Poor level of customer service and not a good experience at all.
