Beautiful resort but a HORRIBLE experience
The resort itself is beautiful, but our experience was HORRIBLE. I had never been here before and was really looking forward to a few days with my family after moving my son into his college apartment. Unfortunately, from the start, it was a nightmare.
The room I originally booked through Hotels.com was not honored. I was told that the room âdid not existâ and they tried to blame Hotels.com for the issue. Instead, they offered to sell me an upgrade, but then said it wouldnât be available until the next day. When it finally became available, I was shocked to see it was the exact room I had booked in the first place, but now they charged me an additional $75 per night.
It was very clear they treat guests differently if you book through a third party. On top of that, the resort hits you with endless, ridiculous fees. I expected to pay a resort fee, but they nickel-and-dimed us for everything. Yes, they gave us a $100 credit, but it barely made a dent after all the extra charges.
The only highlight was the food, which was fantastic. Sadly, that was the only positive. After such a stressful and disappointing experience, we will not be returning.
