Pleasantly surprised. My Army buddy and I have stayed in 3 different hotels for our trips to Aspen. All have been OK but the St Moritz is more than that. The rooms were as advertised: two beds, kitchen with everything we needed, good sized bathroom, parking on-site. We were particularly surprised by the continental breakfast which was much more extensive than most places. We ate the breakfast burritos we brought with us but topped it off with a trip to the downstairs dining room for muffins, meats, cheese, yogurt, cereal, fruit, bagels and more. Really no need to bring any breakfast items.
We were a bit worried on the method we would use for getting to the Aspen Mountain gondola. Walking in ski boots and carrying skis/poles was a bit of a challenge so we used the city bus system. Great choice. A couple of blocks to the bus stop and 5-10 minutes later we were at the gondola.
We will definitely stay at the St Moritz again. Very friendly staff also. But next time we will remember our bathing suits for the HEATED pool.
