Accessible-ish
Needed a handicap accessible room - the confirmation I received after making the reservation indicated that I would get an accessible room. I called to inquire about the shower set to confirm it was a walk in and was told I did not have a reservation for an accessible room - but she would change it. Fine. Checked in, room was accessible - however the bed was so high I’m not sure how anybody with more significant limitations than I have would ever be able to get into that bed. On the first morning when I woke up, I went to get in the shower and the floor of the shower was so incredibly slick that I almost slipped and fell. I had to shower standing on a towel so that I would not slip. The last night I was there I was out late and upon arriving back to the hotel, the front door was locked. No problem, I’ll use my keycard. It doesn’t work. Pulled out my other key card, it doesn’t work. Picked up the phone that is right next to the card swiper it rings the front desk. I can hear it ringing it rang for several minutes. Nobody answered or came to the front desk. I banged on the door. Still nobody. After a couple more minutes of ringing somebody comes stammering to the front door. She gives a very half ass apology and says “oh the card swiper is broken.” Given my limited mobility, standing to get in for that long was not easy. Would it have been that difficult to hang a sign stating the swiper doesn’t work - especially if front desk will step away. Completely unacceptable!
