El Mercado Urbana takes place at La Ventana al Mar in San Juan, facing the Atlantic waterfront. While it’s also on Ashford Avenue, it’s entirely separate and focuses more on handcrafted items and home-grown produce than high-end designers.
Around 50 vendors set up their booths under large tents at El Mercado Urbana. You can find Puerto Rican-made products like vinegar, cheeses, bread, coffee, sangria, soaps, plants, and flowers. Most offer samples so you can try them before you buy. It’s an excellent place to pick up local souvenirs and try some of the local food and drinks.
