When we arrived, noone was there to let us in. After repeatedly ringing the door bell and waiting for about 10 minutes, we called a number on the booking confirmation. Noone answered. We left a message and our call was returned after a couple of minutes. We got a code to get through the street door but were told that due to overbooking, we would not be able to stay in the suite we had booked, but in stead haf been assigned two separate rooms. We were told that the suite would be ready for us the next day, and that we then would get the choice to either stay in the two different bedrooms or switch to the suite and stay there together as planned. The next day, we met some staff on our way out the door to go explore the city. They asked us to move our things to the suite and we declined, not wanting to use our short time in Sassari on packing, moving and unpacking. They accepted. Later, we got a call demanding us to switch to the suite. We declined referring to what we had been told the day before about being free to stay in the two separate rooms, and the proprietor (Giovanni, I think) called us liers, scolded us, and told us to get back and change rooms ourselves, or he would have his staff just place our things in the suite without us present. We objected to the treatment but agreed to be back within two hours. Then he hang up. In the suite, we only got towels for one even though we requested more towels twice. The suite has water damage by the ac and the fridge doesn't work.
