The property looks nice, and had it been half the price we paid, we would have been thrilled with it. But we didn’t feel like it was worth the high price tag, and at more than $500/night, I don’t want to be constantly noticing things wrong. Every time we went to the lobby, we heard other guests complaining too. I think they were fully booked when we were there over the holidays, and they seemed like they could use more staff.
Our room was hot, cooled by a portable AC unit that couldn’t get the temp under 78 degrees. Water never got very warm at any time of day. No response to our request for a working coffee maker after we notified the front desk. One elevator was out of order for the duration of our trip. I will say the grounds are lovely, and the restaurant was very good. Room service was quick to deliver. The beds were ok. We did appreciate the daily champagne and cookies in the lobby.
