"I had an extremely upsetting experience staying at this hotel.
On the first night of my stay, my car was stolen from the hotel parking lot. When I checked in, I specifically asked where I should park. The front desk agent, Astou, directed me to park in the back lot even though there was parking available in the front of the building near the entrance and front desk.
When I later saw the back lot, it was clear that security was very poor. On the right side of the building the gate was completely open, allowing anyone to drive in and out freely. On the left side, the gate arm was broken. Although it appeared down, you could easily drive around the broken barrier without swiping or any type of access control.
The next morning when I realized my car had been stolen and reported it to the front desk, the response was shockingly dismissive. Staff simply said that it “happens a lot,” mentioned that another car had been stolen the night before, and commented that my vehicle is a “common car.” There was no concern, apology, or effort to assist.
While speaking with them, I saw another guest returning a steering wheel club that the hotel had provided for vehicle protection. When I asked why I was never offered that option; especially if they know car theft is common; I was told those are only offered to guests staying for a week or longer.
Knowing that thefts happen frequently and still directing guests to park in an unsecured back lot without warning them is extremely irresponsible."
