The most troubling part of my experience, however, occurred after I returned home to Illinois. I discovered that several valuable pieces of my jewelry were missing from my luggage. Oddly, all of my costume and fake items remained untouched, but I am now without two diamond rings, a Tiffany & Co. necklace with a matching bracelet, and a gold choker. These items were not only valuable but also personally meaningful.
I had the same housekeeper each day — a woman with bright, dried red hair — and although I had placed my bag up and out of the way, I now believe it may have been accessed. I didn’t check it before leaving, trusting that my belongings would be safe. This situation has left me incredibly hurt and disappointed, especially after tipping daily and being a respectful guest.
The front desk and lobby staff were very helpful throughout my stay — they gave great recommendations for local attractions and helped me get familiar with the area, which I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the restaurant/bar staff, who came off as rude and unwelcoming, with little to no personality. It made dining in the hotel uncomfortable.
