Chile lies on the west coast of South America, covering over 6,000 km of coastline overlooking the South Pacific Ocean. Its capital, Santiago enjoys a balmy Mediterranean climate year-round. Head downtown to explore palm-lined squares with historical structures such as Metropolitan Cathedral, the National History Museum, Central Post Office and the Royal Court Palace.

Chile is also known for its natural and cultural offerings. Take a trip to remote Easter Island to visit 900 megalithic monuments by the early Rapa Nui people. The statues are called moai, with massive stone heads jutting above the ground. Adventure lovers flock to Torres del Paine National Park for its snow-capped mountains, glacier lakes, and scenic hiking trails around the Chilean Patagoni.
