Bird Sanctuary House and Suites

Owner was extremely nice and was waiting for us to check-in. Showed us around himself. Beautiful piece of property close to town. We rode our bikes in and out of town. Close to the beaches. Would stay agian.

The guesthouse was quiet and peaceful and very spacious and clean

Excellent location. It was great listening to the birds singing each morning. Ken was an excellent host and give us lots of good advice. Will definitely book here again.

Property well built and spacious but with the studio you slept in effect in the kitchen with all the noise of the appliances at night. Being on ground floor the guests upstairs made for a very disrupted late evening and night. Very disappointing for us all round. We should have chosen a more appropriate stay.

Pleasant surprise at how large and comfortable the room was. It wasn't fancy but large comfortable and clean. Totally worked for us. Centrally located

The suite was clean, modern and quiet, with a lovely view over the back yard and into the bird sanctuary. The Steller's Jays at the bird feeder were always entertaining.

There are hummingbirds that you can watch feeding from 4 ft away on a little upstairs patio. Location was great. very comfortable. Owner very friendly and helpful at check in.

Suite was spacious and comfortable. It was so nice to have a kitchen but you need to buy everything if you plan on much cooking. There were coffee filters, salt and pepper...sugar packets and I think coffee. We had to request paper towels plus there was only one bar of bath soap in a unit with two bedrooms with four people. Generally we’ve had a little more to work with like an extra garbage bag (there was only one in the small garbage container which we quickly filled after cooking), some foil or Saran Wrap, etc. Plenty of pots and pans, dishes, etc. Overall it was a pleasant stay, just be prepared to bring a lot of supplies for cooking.

Stayed in the Heron Suite which was a wonderful large open concept unit with a great kitchen, living room, dining room and portioned off bedroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, this unit can be very noisy. At 6:30 am the people upstairs were pushing the chairs from the table all around and it sounded like they were stomping all over the place. The next night another group of people came in at 10pm and were very loud laughing, yelling and partying for a few hours. In another unit a baby was crying and seemed to wake at 3-4am. Therefore we did not sleep well during our 3 night stay. Besides the noise, the place was large, clean, friendly and a good location only a few minutes drive to the beach or 10 min walk and 5 min drive into Tofino.
