Simon and Christina (the new owners) made us feel special as soon as we arrived late Saturday afternoon.
This beautiful pub is situated in a charming village very close to Rutland Water and Oakham.
We booked 2 rooms for our stay and my photos do not give this place the justice it deserves. Stylish, very spacious rooms with huge en suite bathrooms and every small detail and amenity you can think of. Bathrobes, slippers, just everything including feminine hygiene products.
The huge beds were amazing, so hard to extricate yourself from and so much room even for couples to spread out.
We’d already had a large afternoon lunch when we arrived so didn’t feel hungry and we really regretted it as the breakfast was superb. Excellent local produce and first class poached eggs.
We wish would have dined for lunch here based on our breakfast experience. The service throughout our stay was exemplary and Simon and Christina our charming and engaging hosts.
We shall be back very soon for another stay and to sample their delicious food and drinks.
