Mascherino Suites

The hotel is small. Only six rooms. It was wonderful. The room was decorated in a modern style. The air conditioning worked well. The bed was a bit hard, The staff were very helpful and very nice. The hotel is very close to the Vatican and the subway so it was easy to visit the Vatican and get on the subway to go to other places. Efren made some phone calls and got us tickets for the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel and to the Colleseum. .

Very clean and spacious. Mattress/ pillows are extremely firm. Great location. Front desk personnel are not there very often which was fine for us but could be a problem if you needed anything. Would stay there again.

Had a pretty good visit with Mascherino Suites. I had business in and around the Vatican, and it is hard to find a closer and more convenient spot for such an affordable price. The rooms are on the 3d floor of an older building. There is a charming old elevator. All the common space and rooms have been entirely updated and modernized. Bed and pillows were memory foam -- comfortable! Bathroom very modern and nice. Wifi, great. Also, lots of shops, restaurants, and a metro stop (Ottaviani) close by. Lots to like. Breakfast was not worth the $$. Cold packaged toast and packets of instant coffee. A couple mornings the breakfast tray was not completely refreshed. Also a bit of a disappointment was an instant charge of Rome city tax, even though Hotels.com charged extra for taxes. The clerk wanted cash. Wouldn't accept American Express. Now I learned that no one in Europe likes it, But I wasn't prepared and had to use my personal VISA on a business trip. But when I go back to Rome, I will definitely consider staying at Mascherino Suites again.

I absolutely love this place. The staff is so friendly and selfless. My first night at the place one of the staff help me a personal situation, I will never forget and I am so thankful. The room are gorgeous, bed is comfortable and the restroom was really nice too, specially after a long walk at Vatican, nice hot water al relaxing. The place is in front of parliament plaza and walking distance from San Peter square. Great restaurants and environment at night. I recommend this place for couples and friends. I will definitely be coming back.

Great location. Very clean and safe building while keeping much old world character. Efren was outstanding in his helpfulness both before and during our stay. Will stay again.
