Great Boutique Hotel with helpful staff
The Namamema is located on a quiet safe side street near the center of the old city and near many restaurants, shops, Sunday nite market and entertainment stage and provided a wonderful overall experience that one wants in a boutique hotel. The staff (Nuna, Mee + others) and owner Boon Ratt (hopeful spelled correctly) are friendly and very helpful on getting songthews, tour info and any other needs. The breakfast offering was very good local foods and different every morning and served in a quiet interior courtyard. The rooms are very clean, nicely appointed, good firm bed, excellent shower, with great air conditioning, small fridge, small safe, and provided a great sleep. We would like to thank the owner and staff for our recent stay and overall experience.

Best breakfast in town
This is one of my favorite hotels I've stayed in. The location can't be beat, and the staff is exceptional. They are so friendly and accommodating! I dropped my phone in a bit of water and they gave me a bag of rice to dry it as well as told me how to get to the phone repair shop. Breakfast was different every day and was delicious and authentic. We had some of our favorite Pad Thai here. I genuinely looked forward to the breakfast every morning. The rooms are very comfortable and spotless. Super comfortable bed! The big Sunday market is only a block away and the city is very walkable. I highly recommend this hotel!

Long weekend stay
wonderful small hotel in the heart of the Old City and fabulous for walking about to the historical sites. Room is very basic but has tv, small fridge, walk-in rainforest shower with plenty of hot water; free bottled water in room each day. Breakfast is available but it's basic, and mostly Thai cuisine (rather sweet for first thing in morning). There is a fabulous café across the street See You Soon which serves full western breakfasts, smoothies, juices, etc. This became my home away from home. Hotel staff were very friendly and courteous.

Great Location, Friendly Staff, but not Luxury
This is a small hotel with friendly staff in a fantastic location -- right in the heart of the old town. You can literally walk everywhere you want to go to as a tourist, or take a tuk tuk (little open air taxi). The staff were very helpful although, like many in northern Thailand, they do not speak English much. This is by no means a fancy place. The rooms are quite plain, and the breakfast is adequate but not at all lavish (hint: the coffee is instant Nescafe, with Coffee-mate). There are good restaurants all around, some good craft stores, and many places for Thai massage. This hotel is quite close to the main temple, so you can hear chanting quite loudly in the morning and afternoon. The hotel also has no elevator, and my room was on the third floor, so you have to be prepared for lugging your belongings up two flights of stairs. Air con is a wall unit, which works well but is a bit noisy while trying to sleep. View from my room was the back of some ugly buildings. All in all, I had no real complaints as I was out almost all the time, but just do not be expecting luxury.
